Durante il suo discorso dopo il giuramento, Trump ha ringraziato i diversi ex presidenti presenti, tra cui Joe Biden. "Da oggi in poi, il nostro Paese prospererà e sarà di nuovo rispettato in tutto il mondo. Tutte le nazioni ci invidieranno e non ci lasceremo più sfruttare", ha aggiunto.

"La nostra sovranità sarà reclamata, la nostra sicurezza sarà restaurata, la giustizia sarà di nuovo bilanciata", le parole di Trump, che promette: "Sicurezza, giustizia e sovranità torneranno nelle nostre mani".

"Il maligno, violento e ingiusto uso del dipartimento della giustizia come un'arma politica finirà - ha aggiunto - e la nostra principale priorità sarà di creare una nazione orgogliosa, prospera e libera".

"Non verrà mai più utilizzato l'immensa forza dello Stato per perseguitare gli oppositori politici", ha ribadito, aggiungendo: "È una cosa che conosco. Non permetteremo che accada. Non accadrà più.
