Durante il suo discorso dopo il giuramento, Trump ha ringraziato i diversi ex presidenti presenti, tra cui Joe Biden. "Da oggi in poi, il nostro Paese prospererà e sarà di nuovo rispettato in tutto il mondo. Tutte le nazioni ci invidieranno e non ci lasceremo più sfruttare", ha aggiunto.

Il presidente eletto americano Donald Trump ha pubblicato su Truth una mappa in cui il Canada fa parte degli Stati Uniti, ribadendo le mire espansionistiche rilanciate più volte negli ultimi giorni nei confronti del vicino, così come della Groelandia e del Canale di Panama. “Dal 20 gennaio 2025 cambieremo l'economia molto velocemente” ha annunciato poi Trump nel suo primo intervento da presidente degli Stati Uniti ufficialmente eletto. Il 20 gennaio 2025 è il giorno in cui Trump tornerà alla Casa Bianca, l’Inauguration Day. Oggi, invece, il Congresso di Washington lo ha proclamato ufficialmente presidente eletto degli Stati Uniti (lo ha fatto, nemesi storica, Kamala Harris, la sua sfidante alle elezioni del 5 novembre scorso).

Il tycoon ha aggiunto che la cattiva gestione del ritiro americano dall'Afghanistan ha “ispirato la Russia a invadere l'Ucraina”.

 

“Ereditiamo una situazione difficile dall'Amministrazione uscente di Joe Biden!”, ha precisato il miliardario newyorkese Elon Musk e “fanno di tutto per renderla ancora più difficile!”

Eppure, per quanto riguarda la politica estera, le intenzioni del presidente che entrerà a breve in carica sono tutt’altro che pacifiche: rispondendo a una domanda specifica di un giornalista, Trump non ha escluso l’uso della forza militare per un'eventuale riconquista del canale di Panama e per l'annessione della Groenlandia. 

“Non posso dare assicurazioni su nessuna delle due questioni” ha risposto. Aggiungendo subito dopo: “Ma posso dire questo: ne abbiamo bisogno per la sicurezza economica. Il Canale di Panama è stato costruito per i nostri militari. Non ho intenzione di impegnarmi su questo adesso, potrebbe darsi che dovrò fare qualcosa!”

Sul suo social Truth, il presidente eletto aveva scritto che l'annessione della Groenlandia agli Stati Uniti “è una cosa che deve accadere”. Lo aveva annunciato condividendo un video dell'aereo di suo figlio Donald Jr. che atterra sull'isola, oggi parte della Danimarca.

Il prossimo inquilino della Casa Bianca ha intenzione di usare la “forza economica” (applicando dazi) contro il Canada, il Paese che il presidente eletto vorrebbe diventasse il 51esimo Stato americano.

Trump ha poi minacciato anche il Messico di “imporre dazi molto severi” perché “deve smettere di permettere a milioni di persone di riversarsi nel nostro Paese” anche se potrebbe fermarli. Il presidente ha annunciato 20 miliardi di investimenti per costruire data center negli Usa da parte del miliardario del settore immobiliare degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, Hussain Sajwani, fondatore e presidente di Damac. Sajwani è anche intervenuto brevemente, dicendo: “Siamo molto entusiasti per questa nuova Presidenza”. Il tycoon ha spiegato che i data center saranno costruiti in diversi Stati.

Il riferimento è a lui e agli altri giudici di New York che hanno presieduto i processi in cui il tycoon è stato dichiarato colpevole. Merchan intende chiudere il processo venerdì 10 gennaio 2025 con la sentenza, dopo il verdetto di colpevolezza emesso a maggio dell'anno scorso.
